What’s more precious to parents than their children? Absolutely nothing! Children are everything to their parents & their safety is the primary concern. However, with both parents being involved in work, it became even harder to coordinate. According to a recent study, 8 million children go missing every year. 8 million!!!! Can you imagine that number? It’s overwhelming really, no heartbreaking to say the least! Most of the cases end up in a dead body. Leaving parents suffering from the trauma for the rest of their lives and trying to comprehend why did this happen to their baby. It’s a complete & utter nightmare. They say “keep your friends close and your enemies closer”; I say it’s the other way around. Kidnapping by an acquaintance accounts for 27% whereas kidnapping by a stranger accounts for 24% of the cases. Usually kidnapped children are held captive for sexual intentions, sex trafficking or child pornography. Only a small percentage of those kidnappers ask for a ransom. Rarely do these children make it home alive… What if children tracking system  could actually save lives?

There are countless real cases of missing children. One of the most heartbreaking one would be that of Steven Gregory Stayner.  Stayner was kidnapped from the Central California city when he was seven and held in captivity for seven years. On December 4, 1972, Steven Stayner was approached by man named Ervin Edward Murphy on his way home from school, an acquaintance of Kenneth Parnell. Parnell convinced Murphy to kidnap a young boy and raise him in a religious environment. Parnell abused Steven for seven years and told him that he had adopted him. When Steven got his puberty, Parnell began to search for a younger boy. Timmy white was his next victim. Steven was motivated to help Timmy go back to his parents and escape himself. He succeeded in his attempt and the boys were picked up by the police and Steven told them everything.

Another famous case was that of Etan Patz, as he was the first missing child to have his photograph placed on milk cartons across America in the hope of finding him. On the morning of May 25, 1979, Etan Patz was sent to school from his place in Manhattan. Two people saw  Etan as he waited at a bus station. Etan didn’t come back home that day and his parents informed the police. Pictures of the boy flooded the city and the media covered the case. A witness said that he has seen Etan talking to a suspicious looking blonde man as he was waiting for his school bus.

After three years, the police got their first solid suspect Jose Antonio Ramos. Ramos was a known pedophile who had been caught trying to attract children in to a tunnel in New York. However, there was not enough evidence to charge him with the crime and so he was released. Ramos was rearrested in 1985, where he admitted to attempting to take a boy fitting Etan’s description for sex, but said that he changed his mind and sent him on a subway train to visit his aunt instead. Ramos is currently still in Jail and each year on Etan’s birthday; his father sends Ramos a copy of his son’s ‘missing child’ poster with a message written on the back: “What did you do with my little boy?” In 2011, police announced that a man, Pedro Hernandez, had confessed to strangling Etan and he was charged in November 2012.

One of the most shocking cases in my opinion was that of Jaycee Lee Dugard. She was kidnapped in California on June 10, 1991, at the age of 11 while walking from home to the school bus stop. Jaycee Lee Dugard remained missing for more than 18 years. She was found in 2009, when convicted sex offender Phillip Garrido brought her to a parole office in Concord, California. It turned out that Garrido, along with his wife Nancy, had kept Jaycee a prisoner in a concealed area behind their house. His repeated sexual assaults resulted in Jaycee giving birth to two daughters while in captivity, who were 11 and 15 at the time of her reappearance.

And the list goes on & on.

None of this would have happened if there were a reliable children tracking system. Such cases have touched the souls & so developers decided to come up with something that could put parents’ suffering to an end.
